Any leaves left on the trees this time of year are so dull and brown and bedraggled. I’m tired of looking at them!
But I noticed today that if you look closely, they actually do still have a little bit of red in them leftover from the autumn. You have to look hard.
If you’re in the right light though, you don’t have to look so hard. When the sunshine hits them in the right way, they glow. Their true color, that lingering red, is dramatically amplified and much easier to see – and those dull leaves show what they’re really made of.
I guess I’m philosophical today, but it seems like there’s a lesson in there somewhere!
